~A number of different crashfixes for both dedicated server and game.

Cobalt WASD, V140 changelog:

Stun gun shots are now deflected by the Bullet Shield.

Warmup time default changed to 30 seconds.

Round events like “whole team survived” etc, now properly synced.

Speakers on boulevard now correctly emit notes on client.

Clients throwing disarmed grenades should be fixed.

Sentries now fold out correctly on clients.

Slots in the hud will now darken the items if they can’t be used (due to no ammo, or insufficient battery power)

Sentries no longer deploys against doors or crates.

Sentries now keep seeking back and forth even when out of combat, but at a slower pace than usual. This makes them a little more visible, as well as adding a measure of timing to engaging them.

Sentry hitbox has been increased slightly.

Players no longer remain in the map if they are revived after the round is over but before the round has been cleaned up.

The Metalface “Walker” vehicle now has jet thruster to fly with,

Being radioactive no longer causes random jerks to aim and movement. It still tracks you on map.

Improved collision detection of all fast bullets.

Fixed case where players could be listed in both teams when joining server.

A rejoining player now correctly rejoins the other team if a half-time side switch took place in-between disconnecting and reconnecting.

Physical lights should dance less. Will need to be verified.

Improved accuracy of energy shield hit logic.

Fixed a bug with “teams maxed” triggering wrongly.

Fixed a sound bug that could cause many sounds to be played when a bullet hit a player that has a super shield given to it by a team mate.

Bots are more economical with dashing

Fixed bug where “Cobalt WASD” would think it was in trial mode if you did not own “Cobalt”.

Force Emitter is more visually obvious when it is activated.

Bomb icon is now displayed over your own character too, but only during the buy phase.

Simplified mouse aim logic: 1) Mouse is now limited to a rectangle around the player instead of a circle, 2) Removed the “no-camera-movement-zone” when close to the player. This should make mouse movement less jittery given the fact that the camera would offset with different amounts when moving straight horizontal across the screen.

Moved mouse options out into its own settings.

Added crosshair settings.

Added a little more spacing between the different categories in shop.

Added a hover volt icon to the team shop

Moved mouse hover in shop further down to not obstruct what you are hovering.

Melee item is no longer dark in the UI by default.

Mouse aim is no longer reset when entering/exiting shop.

Fixed bug where spiked mines would crash both host and clients when attaching to the edge of the map.

Fixed bug where main menu would look strange after maximizing window and returning to normal window size again. (Maximizing window will still cause strange rendering though)

Fixed bug where minimap would disappear after window resize.

Bomb is now dropped when a player disconnects with the bomb.

Time Jumper speed boost is more “reaching” the bonus speed, and each jump more similar. Also makes it possible to easier jump forward and then backward after.

Removed the controller menu and moved the game actions into the main menu.

Bottom inventory hud is now partially visible when shopping and the corresponding slot will highlight when hovering an shop item.

Team-Chat! (Default key ‘U’)

Added more announcer sounds! This time we are honored by the up and coming voice actor Jens “jeb_” Bergensten.

Fixed scaling of bottom hud and team selection and shop at low resolutions.

Slugger Cobra has about 67% less recoil.

Rocket launcher has 50% less recoil.

Time Jumper now only teleports the one emitting the bullet.

Time Jumper now always teleports, even when hitting walls.

Time Jumper bullet now has similar collision as the Stun Gun, which means it can be shot by other bullets, causing it to explode prematurely.

Actually fixed the sneak strings.

Slugger shots now should slide less against walls.

Slugger weapon shoot and hit sounds updated.

Increased visual glow of slugger bullet hits.

Protobot basic grenade explosion power increased by 28%.

Swarm launcher missiles have 70% less dead/tumbling friction, making the fall more naturally.

Rocket launcher rockets have 60% less dead/tumbling friction, making the fall more naturally.

Fixed nano dispenser losing collision after it is attacked with melee.

Nano pump no longer gets stuck at round end while being used.

Assists added. Assists are given to a non-killing player that has somehow affected the target last. Could be by attacking it before, or by exposing it to for example a flashbang.

Healing stats added. You get 1 heal for a revive and you get 1 heal per full health you heal as well. You do not get healing stats for healing yourself.

Bots now use jet shoes in combat and for travel.

Fixed default crosshair not showing up.

Effects cleanup at start of round fixing rare case where a healing heart can revive a player just as round starts.

Game will no longer show player errors messages from AI-players, such are trying to join a full team.

Team chat on steam lobbies should now not show message to host.

Spiked mines no longer spin strangely on clients.

Bot ai is more active after round has ended.

Bot ai will now guard bomb after plant

Servers now correctly update the map currently being played in the server browser.

Player icons now have shadows on minimap.

Player and bullet icons are now capped to the edge of the minimap, but will change sprite and scale depending on distance from edge.

Molotov fire now lasts 10 seconds instead of 4 seconds.

Molotov fire now stays more around where it hit instead of crawling away.

Molotov does 50% less instant heat damage on impact.

Molotov fire and dynamite fire can now be extinguished by explosions.

Radioactive vial now emits 6 projectiles instead of 5 in an even bigger arc.

Time bomb ranged increased to 650 from 500.

Time bomb actor slow down slowed down to 0.25 from 0.3

Time bomb object slow down sped up to 0.03 from 0.02

Fixed bug where you would get too much gravity applied when using jet shoes while also flying through a time bomb.

Defender “Super Shield” replaced by “Kinetic Absorber”.

“Kinetic Absorber” lasts longer than “Super Shield”, but only absorbs 500 damage instead of being invulnerable.

Added “Hack Grenade” to protobots.

Reworked hack grenade to be less bouncy, and instead of instantly shooting its hack, it stays on the ground for 5 second periodically shooting hacking sparks at anything in line of sight. Hack grenade can now also hack sentries, spiked mines and healing stations.

Increased minimap size of boulevard and mansion.

Metalface Explorer with Time Distortion reduced battery cost/second by 25% from 0.4 to 0.3.

Updated -botfill logic: Now bots will also even out teams, even if more than the fill desired is present on the server, but still never exceed the expected number of max bots.

Reverted to v145 due to stability concerns. Will investigate.

Added a "cutting_edge" branch and moved v146 to that. It can be accessed by right clicking the game, going into properties -> betas -> select "cutting_edge" from the beta program list

Hack grenade sparks can now be shot. If they are hit, they will change owner and try to hack something else. Hack grenades themselves can also be hacked.

Added a more unqiue sprite the hack grenade sparks.

Time Booster ally effect range increased to 350 from 250.

Fixed a stability issue regarding offer handling on server.

Non-owned actors should no longer be lingering in the world after round end,

Fixed a crash-bug related to Time Jumper bullets hitting each other.

Bug where trying to start the game through steam prompts the user to accept ever increasing command line options should be fixed.

Removed “abort” from main menu when playing online. Leave/Close lobby has the same effect.

Added online steam presence information so that you can see what friends are doing more specifically inside cobalt.

Added advertising of server for steam friends, which means that you should be able to join friends games through the steam overlay.

Added some information in the dedicated server readme about port forwarding.

Fixed bomb effect bugs on mansion, orbit and anthill.

Fixed some tiles lingering in tags.

Disarming/Planting the bomb while blind is slowed down up to 50% depending on how blind you are.

Disarming/Planting the bomb while stunned or hacked is slowed down up to 100% depending on how stunned or hacked you are.

Fixed crash related to shopping and switching team.

Bomb explosion damage model adjusted. Its through-walls attack has 50% less damage and 50% less range.

Assisting a kill now works “more” correctly. (Ex1: team-flashing your friend, whom then later gets shot in the face by the enemy -> this will give you -1 assist. Ex2: You flash an enemy, who then gets shot by the enemy’s teammate. You get 1 assist!.)

Winning / Losing by time-out now only gives the lower amount to the players that actually were alive at the end. The players that are dead will still get the regular winning/losing amount.

Changed loss streak bonus calculation to: 0/20/40/60/80 instead of 0/15/30/45/60. This should make the losing side catch up a little faster and level out at a higher possible ceiling.

Improved synchronization of doors which should mean that quick-peeking through a door and shooting or tossing a grenade should result in more expected results.

Improved the input handling for text chat. Hopefully we should no longer get the stuck issue.

Fixed size calculation of text chat stopping at certain control characters. Certain smileys should now not break the black background.

Added (TEAM-NAME) to the team-text chat to further clarify how it works.

Renamed “Special” and “Details” to “Context 1” and “Context 2” to more accurately reflect how they actually work.

Scoreboard button now editable.

Changed the control editing layout. Instead of having columns for character and menues where you edit both columns at once, there are now three sections: “Character”, “Menues” and “Global”, where you edit each control separately.

Switching team now also removes any brain that you own.

Fixed some possibly bug-causing lingering states from revives.

Fixed throwing getting stuck bug.

Added another spinner when hosting/joining to more accurately reflect what is happening..

Increased height of minimap on Sand, Night, Boulevard, Government, Hotel, Mansion.

Removed some bad ai on Anthill and filled holes in minimap.

Mansion changes: Reworked many angles to be a little bit more simple. Added some needed options to the rather straight lower path. In general opening up some unnecessarily tight rooms.

Fixed bug where Ai-Bots could be forever stuck in sneaking mode.

Fixed bug where Bot-skill could become capped at a lower value than intended.

Fixed streaks resetting each round.

Destroying a player that has a killstreak going of 2 or more will give the destroyer a kill-streak breaker bonus (more volts!).

Removed generic say texts from the scoreboard. Only emotes go there now, and the chats go in the chat log + on your actor.

Cleaned up some odd rendering in the scoreboard of names.

Added identity to the scoreboard so that you can see if it an AI.

Added player LEVEL + EXP system!

Exp is given for completing matches based partly on your performance in the game.

Player level will be shown next to your name. Playing versus players of higher level will yield more exp. Playing vs players of lower level will yield less exp. Playing vs humans will give more than playing vs bots.

Levels unlock various options, like new announcer voice packs, special crosshair sprites, emotes, and more to come later.

Added some new emotes to the random category.

You now get more volts for kills in the warm-up.

Fixed invulnerable protobots on anthill after bomb explosion.

Added actual names to the crosshair styles.

When selecting an emote in the menu, you now get a preview spoken by the characters in the background.

For the v151, this is the current EXP multiplier breakdown:

kills = 1,

teamkills = -5,

assists = 1, --assists, like flashbangs and so on.

support = 1, --heal/revive

collectedEnergy = 1/30, --volts gained

roundsPlayed = 5,

this should give you an idea of about how total exp gained is calculated

this is then multiplied with a value based on how high/low level your opposing team is.

Fixed Time Jumper not always teleporting.

Time Booster has been reworked to Timeline Alternator. Timeline alternator boosts time a little less, but while active it will in return absorb your first damage taken, and teleport you back to where the ability was activated. The aborbed damage will be considered “heals” if it would not have killed you, and “revive” if it would have, for the purpose of stats.

You can now hold the ability button for 0.5 seconds to disable your ability. Disabling your ability will drain your entire battery and add an ability use cooldown of 6 seconds.

You now gets exp for bomb disarms, bomb plants, and bomb detonations too.

Hopefully fixed a bug related to getting permanent stealth.

Fixed playing way too many rig-healing sounds when round restarts and actors are healed.

Fixed emote menu option key presses also selecting a weapon slot.

You can now exit the buy menu by pressing the right mouse button.

Added extra level unlock check for people that crashing during leveling up so that you are ensured to get your unlocks.

Disable ability cooldown reduced from 6 to 3 seconds.

Fixed bug that caused timeline alternator to not drain any battery when teleported back.

Renamed “battery” to “reactor”, and improved description with the following: “Super Reactor: Will double your reactor capacity and increase charge speed by 70%”. (which it does! It just didn’t say)

Emp effects / Forced drains of reactor now also reset the charging speed of the reactor temporarily. The charging speed will be restored over 2 seconds.

Dashing now acts more cleanly physically against walls.

Wall-Rolls added! Move against a wall in the air and press jump, to perform a roll propelling you up along the wall! You character will reach out towards to wall to indicate that wall-rolling is possible.

Unlocks now keep their level badge even after they are unlocked so that you can see at which level each item was unlocked at.

Fixed spacing between items in lists at higher resolutions.

Centered some icons and strings in the menues.

Getting teamkills with the bomb is no longer counted.

Fixed missing platform physical on a piece of metal palisade. Fixes an unexpected fall on mansion lower site.

Added a penalty to wall-rolling up into the ceiling. Now the rolling stops, and you cannot roll again for a little while. This makes it harder to stay rolled up in the top of a corner.

Fixed experience counter in the main menu not updating correctly.

Changed Experience required to level up formula. It now starts at 1500 and goes up a little faster.

Improved the item stats calculation so that the Emp Launcher correctly lists emp damage in the list of stats.

Fixed score counters not aligning at higher resolutions.

Fixed minimap possibly getting corrupted when switching between fullscreen modes with alt+enter.

Radioactive attacks do about 67% less damage, but the gamma effect lasts about 50% longer. They also move about 10% faster through walls.

Radioactive crossbow spikes now expire after 1.5 seconds, making them not able to fly from spawn to spawn, but more around half the map.

Nano pump has slightly more bullet speed and rate of fire.

Change round end logic: As long as a player is being revived on the eliminated team, the round will not end.

Stealth now sets your hull colors to the default colors for the duration of being cloaked. Your white eye/mouth highlight is also disabled for the purpose of showing you more accurately how you actually look.

Crossbow direct hit damage increased by 100%

Healing station now costs 10 volts.

Matter prototype bullet speed increased by 14% (which also increases its range the same)

Matter prototype recoil reduced by 50%

Matter prototype rate of fire increased by 15%

Adjusted Slugger Revolution to be slightly less intense on the ears.

Chrono effects such as caused by the time rod, time jumper, dissipate at both a relative and a constant rate, the relative rate is now 10% quicker, but the constant rate remains the same. This means extreme time slowdowns dissipate close to 10% faster, while small ones dissipate close to the old rate.

Time Distortion ability on the metalfaces explorer hull has been tweaked. The ability should now work better when two suits are active no longer potentially causing them to slow down each other more than they should. The relative time bonus of the ability has also been increased by 16% (meaning you can do more in relation to the speed on the incoming bullets).

Emp launcher: Synchronized proximity feedback for missiles, clients should no longer get a spam of red lines, but instead just 1!

Bomb can no longer be planted on movable boxes.

Bomb can no longer be planted on side walls.

Bomb now cannot deploy for too far off from where you are planting to mitigate odd bugs!

Change default warmup time ingame to 15.

Rounds, round time limit and warmup time settings are now correctly saved between games.

Sand tweaked, making the first house a bit more interesting and giving the Protobots more path options.

Fixed rare case where round would not end with bomb planted, and whole opposing team dead.

Fixed a visual lamp layering issue on Mansion.

Healing should now no longer be able to heal brains that got destroyed while healing was in transit.

Fixed case where bomb planting could cause an enormous amount of sounds being played unrelated to bomb planting.

The camera will now automatically observe your brain if it is being revived.

When holding a healing pump, or a healing station ready to throw, your hud will show possible targets to revive with green plus signs shown against the border of the screen.

When you are revived, a message will now inform you of this on screen, and a special sound will play, and your character will be marked with a ring of your teams color.

Have possibly improved speed at which peer connection errors can be resolved. Before they could be delayed by up to 20 seconds even though they needed not be.

Stolen jet bikes can now be damaged correctly. They will also change owner so that at the end of round they will spawn in the new team's spawn.

Bullets deflected by the Bullet Deflector ability now change color to indicate their new collision mask.

The Predator mech on protobots now has an Emp Cannon (Rail cannon with emp effect) instead of a rocket launcher.

The jetbike is now more bottom heavy and has less friction on the landing gears, as well as not flipping its facing when it is upside down with landinggears. This should make it roll around less, and even if it does, it should flicker less when doing so.

Fixed a case where a bot would fail to be removed from a team, so you would end up having too many bots.

Fixed bug where players could permanently get 0 stats and 0 volts after rejoining.

Fixed bug where clients could be told they “combo killed 0 X”. This is now synced correctly.

You can now start an offline game with 0 bots and still continue past buying phase.

Fixed a number of bugs related to camera-tracking jerkiness when switching what you are observing.

Made switching between players in spectator mode more snappy

Added a new feature, Use right-click while spectating a player to enable camera control. This will allow you to look around the player in a reasonable range.

Fixed a rare ai crash.

Fixed a long standing bug with player colors that caused the mouth and eye colors settings to be ignored.

Fixed bug where camera would float away with nothing tracked.

Nitrogen grenades can now extinguish fires.

Matter war shoot sound max range has been increased by 50%.

Matter war now has a laser pointer visible to everyone.

All missile/rocket weapons have had their sound range increased by 50%.

Laser pointer now get less visible when cloaked.

The Stun Gun shoot and hit sounds max range has been increased by 50%.

Added “falling” sounds to the Stun Gun bullet and to the Swarm Launcher and Rocket launcher. These bullets/missiles will now emit a sound indicating they are falling through the air. This sound will hopefully give you a little heads up that artillery is incoming.

Stun Gun bullets now starts to dissipate in power after flying for 2.5 seconds, fading linearly down to 0 power over another 2.5 seconds.

Radioactive Crossbow spikes should no longer bounce on things.

Radioactive Crossbow spikes now also emit the radioactive projectile when they expire in mid-air.

Radioactive Crossbow spikes now also glow green to indicate they they have a special effect.

Shopping music is back! And last player alive music now works correctly!

Boulevard disco house has been given another floor to give some mid-of-map artillery cover and a broken gas station sign added to protobot spawn.

Fixed lingering alone music.

Stun gun shots now start to lose power at 33% of their life, and lose power over the remaining duration.

Decorative boxes on boulevard are no longer destructible.

Smoothed out match starting camera movement

When match winner is announced, you can now spectate all players.

Fixed jerking camera when switching player to spectate when there is only 1 player left.

Bomb beeping sound range increased by 100%.

Fixed Bots remaining white colored after you stopped playing them at end of round.

Fixed sentries and vehicles not having the correct eye/mouth color corresponding to team.

Shop now visualizes the max stack that a grenade can hold.

Added sprite for Super Reactor on the character.

Added map Masters. Old map from pre WASD testing. Subject to changes.

Dashing with low energy no longer gives your infinite ability to keep flying upwards.

Changed the reactor bar in the shop from the blue circles to a progress bar similar to the one you have under your character.

Aiming now still “works” while rolling up walls.

Due to a very unfortunate mistake an unknown number of version ago, a large portion of the optimized rendering for maps was not used. This is now fixed. FPS improvements should be noticeable.

Metalfaces’ Jet Bike is now equipped with a Thermal Launcher instead of the Missile Launcher.

Improved dashing direction detection

Removed the volts feedback emitted effects since they compete information wise with the damage output. Volts log is now only visible next to your volts counter.

Made killing damage dealt to you and dealt by you also show the critical hit type if there was any, and also increase the visibility of the effect.

Added a “killed by” info box that fades in after you die showing you the name and description of the item that killed you.

Fixed missing minimap circles from Time Jumper use.

Standing over multiple items and trying to pickup one no longer picks up all of them in a serial fashion, but instead just the one you wanted.

Being revived now causes you to “reconstruct” over 1.5 seconds, during which you are slower and perform actions slower.

Reorganized shop layout with suits on top, weapons on left, grenades and equipment on right and vehicles on bottom.

Reworked recoil to be less intense at the start and instead slowly increase over the magazine.

Reorganized the suits: Light/Heavy suits have been added for both teams using Explorer/Defender skin. Light has 100 HP, has no ability and costs 10 volts. Heavy has 250 HP, has no ability and costs 20 volts. Protobot Chrono and Metalface Chrono now cost 20 and the Scouter and Stealth cost 30. The old Metalface Defender now looks like a Scouter. The old Metalface Explorer now looks like a chrono.

To compensate for the more expensive hulls, losing and winning volt rewards have both been increased by 5. (25/40 from 20/35)

Buy timer has been increased from 12/8 (first round/other rounds) to 20/15, but the skippable portion of the buy timer has also been increased from 50% to 75%.

Stun gun no longer has heat damage.

Stun gun stun effect is now falls off linearly based on range from blast center.

Fixed Mouse Camera Smoothing option capping your maximum camera range to a lower value than intended.

Character no longer tries to aim if the mouse is straight on your character which fixes jerky animations when mouse has not been moved before entering shop.

Fixed matter cannon had incorrectly received 6 bullets instead of 6 max ammo.

Added a reaction delay to bots being “stood on” and “standing on” players for the purpose of dashing.

Bug where dashing could cause extreme effects has been fixed.

Dashing damage reduced by 90%.

Dashing hit effect is now scaled with the speed and fade of the dash anim. This means that when dashing from standstill against something that is standing point blank, the dash will be much less powerful.

Actually increased disarm timer to 3 now. Change was not implemented.

Bomb timer increased to 26s, was 25s.

Changed the players being 50% brighter effect to scale with cloaking so that cloaked players are not brightened to the same degree. This accidentally caused dark areas to be worse for cloaking since your bright cloaked hull would stand out even more against the dark background.

Protobot Fighting Stick has been replaced by a Spear. Spear has 72 range while stick had 62. This will make it less like the scimitar with its 50 range.

AI-Bots now don’t instantly change perception of you when you cloak, but instead fade their idea of how cloaked you are smoothly. This will make them track you a little when you cloak, but also not track you instantly when you uncloak.

Ai-bots will now see you if you shoot or perform visual actions when cloaked.

Charged Magnet duration increased to 20s, was 12s.

Charged Magnet arm delay changed to 0.25s, was 0.5s.

Charged Magnet time to “expand” post attachment changed to 0.2s, was 0.5s.

Made time limit running out more opaque.

Moved match point string above each team score.

Changed timer advantage color to be only slightly the team color that will win instead of completely colored.

Since last version, you can now see the score of the teams playing when joining and the rounds remaining.

Made the slot in your inventory highlight stronger when hovering over an item in the shop.

Fixed score counter not updating when switching sides if one of the sides had 0 score.

Reworked abilities friend logic. Now the friend effect works like auras where the friend effect remains on for as long as the suit that is creating it, but allies need to stay within range to keep the effect active.

Normalized range for all friend abilities to 300. Cloak, shield was 250, alternator was 350.

Friends affected by the ability aura now also have a feedback bolt for the shield and chrono effect, while the cloak has a temporary indicator that fades out.

Multiple effects from friends can now be layered on the same target, meaning you can be both shielded and cloaked, or shielded by 2 friends.

Improved synchronization of effects which means that if you incorrectly predicted an effect being applied, it should be corrected by the server.

Timeline alternator no longer empties the reactor when teleported. Instead, each teleport costs 1 reactor ball for the chrono hull that applied the effect. Only if the teleport happens to the causing actor does the armor ability deactivate.

Improved synchronization/prediction verification of item activation logic. This should make sure that the server and client should no longer be able to fall out of sync in regards to item active state (ability use, jet shoes use, dashing…).

Now that abilities no longer create fire and forget ally effects, the abort ability cooldown has been removed, and the reactor cost for aborting an ability has been reduced to 1 energy, from 4.

Added more debug print-outs when coroutines die in release

Fixed ally cloaking effect becoming permanent.

Players now also remove brains from map when they leave, not just switch teams.

Maybe fixed player rank missing

Corrected bugged string on melee weapons. It now correctly shows the volt bonus.

Fixed appdata path for console logs. They should now all appear in Cobalt WASD, instead of Cobalt.

Reactor would before not resume charging if it stopped consuming energy and you were stunned. Removed this. You now resume charging energy even when stunned.

Failure to predict can no longer forcefully activate items, which should solve stuck ability bugs.

Improved accuracy between server and client for thrown items. This should fix a number of cases where the client thinks it threw a grenade straight but it bounced on server, and vice versa.

Fixed issue where jet shoes would not be possible to activate if releasing and tapping again fast when having held it down past the fuel running out.

Spiked mine is now EMP Mine. Emits projectiles that cause an emp effect on impact as well as damage.

New default controls are more similar to PC fps games, All things now have a real slot. Quick use is still a thing but is optional. Drop item is added! Old switch between primary/secondary is gone, instead you swap between last used selected slots as well as having next and previous slots on the scroll wheel:

1,2,3,4,5: Select primary, secondary ,melee, grenade, bomb

Mouse wheel up/down: Next slot/Previous Slot

Q: Switch between last used slots.

Left Mouse Button: Attack

Right Mouse Button: Activate ability

Submission folders are now generated with a suffix of “.00001” where it will try to linearly find a name that does not exist yet and create a new folder. This should make sure that each submission of a map is fresh without any old files remaining.

Force device push effect reworked. It now pushes plugs. Push is stronger by about 40% but it also pushes towards a top speed stronger which means it will be better at pushing incoming grenades. It also depends less on mass.

If a shop item fails to deliver on purchase and is instead dropped on ground, it will now be reserved for the player meaning AI:s cannot pick it up.

Fixed an engine bug that could cause servers to become inoperable after lots of players joining and leaving during a single match.

Added 5 new command line arguments:

-exit_on_update, Causes the server to exit if it detects it needs an update (and there are no players playing on the server).

-exit_on_idle, Causes the server to exit if no players have been playing on it for a set amount of time.

-idle_threshold [1-...s], Sets the threshold (in seconds) without any players playing to be considered idle. (Default: 14400 seconds)

-restart_on_empty, Causes the server to restart (including possibly selecting a new map) if a match was started but the server is empty for a certain amount of time.

-empty_threshold [1-...s], Sets the threshold (in seconds) for how long a server needs to be without players before a started match is restarted. (Default: 60 seconds)

Added prefix help if a game mode is selected to the editor save dialog.

Fixed some bugs related to switching resolution and full screen mode multiple times in a row causing the game to have really strange hud and window scaling, and in the worst case lock with a black screen.

Resolution and fullscreen mode and v-sync and fullscreen output no longer require a game restart to apply.

Maybe fixed issues with taskbar being on top of window in some modes. Let me know.

Game no longer automatically restarts if needs to restart to apply settings when using steam. This is because it caused a bug with the Steam DRM which caused the online browser to return 0 results after restart, even though it looked like it was working. It should not be an issue though since almost no settings require restart anymore.

You no longer get stuck in Delete Profile.

More menues have the scroll up and down input hint.

Top-menu online can now simply be hovered with the mouse to acces the interactions/go back.

Jet shoes thrust more accurately when boosting in a direction that is not upwards.

Removed the “1 ..”, “2 ..” before server names in the browse lobbies.

Hack grenade now seeks targets twice as often, up to 4 times per second, but if it finds a target and emits a spark, it now has a cooldown of 1 s before it emits another, up from 0.5s. This makes it not perma stun when close to enemies, but it also makes it more economical since it loses less duration per second.

Swarm Launcher in WASD Reload time now 2.9s, was 2.75s.

Bullet Deflector in WASD now drains 0.1 reactor energy per bullet it deflects.

Moved some item information values from the description texts to their own rows with a formatted number, icon and color.

Fixed jet shoes sometimes getting stuck when taking over a bot.

Made mouse hover tool tip adaptively scale down up to 20% on lower resolutions.

Metalface defender now has an ability that lets it spawn floating energy boxes.

Critical hit damage scale has been changed:

Jet shoes has been adjusted to be a little stronger and less dependent on reactor level, but also slightly less accumulating, so lower top speeds.

Warmup can now be longer and max value becomes infinite.

Bomb planted volt bonus is now only given to the team with the plant objective (Protobot team).

Round win by timeout increased to 50, was 15. (in comparison to round win, which is 40).

Bots now move out of spawn towards the bomb sites if no other desired location was issued.

Bots no longer get stuck trying to heal each other when there is nothing to heal.

Fixed a bot´bug that caused them to try to double jump, but fail, causing them to fail many vertical jumps.

Fixed bots thinking bomb is a good item to use.

Bots will now actually go pickup the bomb if it has been dropped.

Bots will now consider ally presence when picking a bomb site to plant at, if there are any allies at one.

Bots will no longer suicide-disarm the bomb when there are other threats to deal with.

Made Jump, double jump, wall roll about 9% stronger.

Horisontal movement is now about 11% faster.

Horisontal control is about 50% less. (meaning, it takes a little longer to reach max speed when tapping left/right/left/right)

Wall rolling is more predictable and will never waste a double jump,

Wall rolling can now be done by simply holding the jump button.

You will now always have a double jump at the end of a wall roll.

When moving through the air the player will now lean very slightly either forward or backward, depending on if you hold left or right input keys.

Double jump will now give you a slight speed boost in the direction that you lean in the air.

Removed Reactor Booster from Equipment.

Dash, Jet, Hook, Shield added as equipment.

Dash, Jet, Hook, Shield use the same equipment slot and cost 10 volts each.

Shield is no longer automatic. Press shift to use. Can be used in the air. Slows down movement speed by 40%.

Dash no longer use Reactor.

Dash cooldown now 1s,

Dash direction picking has been reworked. Dash now picks a primary direction of 8 based on the up/down/left/right keys, unless you are holding a direction that is within the half-circle towards where you are aiming, at which point it will dash towards where you are aiming.

Jet no longer use Reactor.

Jet now has a maximum flying height above which its will not be able to thrust. (rather high!)

Jet usage animation is now different and more downwards.

Defender suit when using Dash, Jet and Hook is about 25% more sluggish than other suits.

Suit abilities no longer use Reactor.

Suit abilities now use cooldown and duration as their primary modes of operation.

When a suit ability is aborted, the cooldown is scaled with how long it was activated.

When a suit ability is used, it shows its duration progress over the item slot.

When a suit ability is ready, its hud slot will flash.

Aura ally effects are now limited to 1 destruction per activation.

When a suit ability is destroyed on yourself (alternator / shield), it causes the full cooldown to trigger.

Suit ability cooldown restore is blocked when you are blind, stunned or materializing from a revive, and it is displayed on top of the hud icon.

Removed Bullet Shredder.

Replaced it with Box Generator (now a grenade)

Box Generator grows to about 100% bigger in size.

Flashbang now disables active abilities.

Flashbang lifetime now 1s, was 1.2s.

Hack Grenade now also disables active abilities.

Klonk now disables active abilities.

Klonk is now less scary for AI.

Molotov fire now lasts 12s, was 10s.

Molotov fires damage now 1, was 2.

Motolov fires heat now 2, was 4.

Nitrogen Grenade now has 350 range, was 125.

Nitrogen Grenade now does less cold damage per second.

Cold damage now can only slow you down up to 50%.    

Stun gun now disabled active abilities.

Stun gun damage decreased by 25%.

Stun gun now disabled both metalfaces and protobots, but still only enemies.

Default Punch is now much stronger at actually punching people away.

Reload boost now gives 20% more reload speed bonus.

Critical hit damage scale has been changed:

Hold the fort shop position fix.

Fixed some inaccurate physics on a deathshroom rock tile causing a certain slope not to be aligned correctly.

WASD:

Bot shopping AI has been recoded from scratch.

Duck jump hop and regular hop now gives the same speed boost. (about middle between the two)

Reduced the ducking gravity increase to 60% extra, instead of 75% extra.

Increased control of releasing jump key before reaching peak jump. Now you can cancel jump height about 50% stronger.

Made recoil reset about 50% stronger when standing still or ducking, and about 50% weaker when jumping around and running. The total recoil is still very small, but it can be noticed when spamming certain high-recoil guns. The reasoning for this is with the reduced damage model and improved jumping, the reasons for not jumping around maximally in a fight became fewer, so this increases slightly the reasons for finding ways to shoot from solid ground.

Rocket launcher now has 3 ammo, was 2.

Rocket launcher cooldown between shots now 1.1s, was 0.35s.

Rocket launcher reload time now 3.75s, was 1.3s.

Changing controls of a non-customized preset will now restore the defaults of the customized preset before switching over to it. This way when you start with the default standard controls, and have a customized controls preset, changing one key doesn’t suddenly change all the keys. This is closer to what you expect to happen.

Changing preset keys no longer causes all keys to display as “?”

Fixed “unknown has connected” when another client joins a server in which a client is already present.

Shield hits now makes you fly backwards and become temporarily slowed.

Shield no longer has health, but instead a regenerating charge. This is represented by the opacity of the shield as it gets damaged. If the shield is completely gone, you can still hold it up, but it will not block any shots.

The Shield charge health is 75. Meaning if it absorbs a matter war shot to the body, it will still do 25 damage.

The Shield charge regenerates 5 charge / second.

The Shield charge level is indicated on the hud slot as well.

Shield now protects against all kinds of attacks, not just bullets. This includes grenades, missiles and the lot!

Shield extends about 5 pixels less upwards for protection calculation.

Bots now aim more cleverly vs shields.

Being slowed in this way can now knock you out of ducking if hit enough exposing your head.

Changed the emitted damage feedback numbers to only actually show damage dealt in terms of hull damage.

New ‘work-in-progress’ Main Menu has been added.

New Main Menu is not complete, but is backwards compatible with the old menu, which means that all screens which have yet to be reworked, will use the old menu instead. Eventually all screen should be reworked, but we must prioritize for now.

Practice with Bots and the Server Browser has not been reworked yet.

Mods has not been reworked yet.

Statistics has not been reworked yet.

Switch profile has not been reworked yet.

Old “Play Online” is now called “Server Browser”.

New “Play Online” added, which works like a kind of matchmaking:

Play Online will find someone else to play with (players on a server, players in a steam lobby, other players also searching), and take steps to get a game going. In the case of servers or steam lobbies, you will join them. In the case of other players searching, your searches will merge and you will then either join a server/lobby or optionally, one of you will automatically host a game.

Play Online is brand new, and we plan to add some more options to give players a little more control over exactly which filters are used when searching, but for now it will not match you with servers/lobbies/players above 100 ping, and it will make sure that you do not play alone.

Play Online can be in active while you play on another server waiting for someone else, or you can play offline with bots while you search.

New “Party” system added.

Party system can be found in the bottom left corner, it will show your steam avatar. Click “Create Party” to create a party, and then click the portrait buttons with the “+” on them to invite friends. As the party leader, you will control what the party does. If you join a server or click “Play Online”, your party members will also join that server or play online with you and servers/lobbies will be filtered to make sure that your whole party can fit in them.

If you are a party member, you can still exit a server that your party has made you automatically join, but doing so will give you a “join game” button above the party avatars, where you can rejoin the game your party is currently playing.

In the Party ui, clicking the avatars will pull up your friends steam profile page.

Given that both Play Online and the Party system are brand new, I especially ask of everyone using them to please give us feedback regarding bugs, comments or issues.

Spear now actually attacks once instead of twice. It was an unintended perk.

Corrected an exploit which meant that you could bypass shield if you walked backwards when using melee.

Added “Press [ESC]” info if you idle at the logo.

Fixed bug where shooting right as you flipped facing, the bullet could go the opposite way.

Simplified Girder physics collisions. You no longer collide against the edge of a girder like a circle against a point, rather the girder is always treated as a line with a normal only upwards. This fixes issue where running over girders side-ways would sometimes cause a collision that bounced you backwards.

Hack grenade changes reverted, Now back to 15s, and 1s hack duration.

Time Jumper debuff now lasts a bit longer when small.

Time Jumper debuff intensity curve now a bit more exponential.

Time Jumper debuff effect spark a bit more smooth and less aggressive on the eyes, and it is easier to see the amount of debuff by the size of the sparks.

Time Jumper explosion push away force now 10, was 50. (pushes enemies away less, easier to hit!)

Time Jumper speed bonus when teleported increased from 30 to 40, but it now also removes 25% of the speed before. This makes the Time Jumps a bit smoother when using them during a fall (less gravity survives to the end of the jump), and it keeps the time jumper speed more manageable when used at high speeds and repeatedly, as well as being more reliable when using from no speed.

Raised hook wrecking ball mode speed threshold from 5 to 15 speed. This makes the wrecking ball mode give you away less when stealthing, and it makes it a bit less sensitive in the low speeds.

Reduced the protective surface limit of the Energy Shield. It now protects 8 pixels less in the upwards direction and 4 pixels less in the downwards direction. This new limit more accurately matches the graphics. The old surface size was 55, the new is 43, so a reduction in size of 22%.

Energy Shield now has proper feedback when hit online, both visual and audio.

Energy Coil now has correctly synced feedback when hitting targets.Also

Energy Coil push force increased by 25%.

Energy Coil mass factor reduced by 50% (meaning is will be even stronger)

Energy Coil gripless amount (the amount of control-loss for the target) now ignores mass.

Made the disable abilities effect on Stun Gun more reliable.

Weapons dropped during warmup now disappear after 30 seconds.

During a match round, if you are AFK for more than 45 seconds, you will now receive an AFK warning under your character. It will increase in opacity over 15 seconds. When the warning time runs out you will be moved to spectators. When you get back there will be a message on your screen saying “You were moved to spectators”.

Dancing is now synced across the network which means the boulevard disco works can be used to dance. Successfully leveling up dancing close to enemies will shoot them with “disco-bolts” which stun them similar to hack grenade.

Raised Stun Gun damage to 25, was 15. It still has no critical hit multipliers, which means 2 hits to destroy an unarmored, 4 hits with armor, and 12 hits for a heavy.

Increased Stun Gun push effect on enemies a bit.

Game now supports custom maps while playing online. Host a lobby, switch Resource Storage from “Official” to “Workshop”, and select from your subscribed workshop maps there! Players joining your lobby will be asked to subscribe and download the map.

Game now supports more extensive modding and mods can be used online. Simply subscribe to a mod and then activate it under “help & options” -> “mods”. When hosting a game online, other players will automatically subscribe to the mods and activate them prior to joining.

Statistics has been added! Access them from the main menu!

Experience and account level has been added! Play various arcade game modes to gain experience and level up! Leveling up unlocks emotes!

Game-play:

Added more unique loot throughout story, in particular more extra lives and batteries around boss fights.

Grenades and throwables now have a much bouncier first bounce. They will also be targetable by your own auto-aim and bullets after the first bounce.

”Missile Launcher” slightly snappier ignition time, slightly more level launching angle, and slightly less effect from the shooting players speed.

In “Survival” all enemies now have a more uniform color theme, making it easier to distinguish friend from foe.

”Ninja” cloth and goggles are now damage indicator.

”Ninjas” now becomes temporarily slowed when damaged similar to Guards.

”Ninja” cloth is now a team color indicator.

”Fly” wings and eyes are now team color indicator

”Wasp” wings and eyes are now team color indicator

”Spikebird” eyes are now team color indicator

”Chrono Rod” now has a powerful chrono shift effect which slows down enemies, and also gives a temporary speed boost, but about 33% less damage.

”Heal”, “Restore Gamma” and “Sooth Heat/Cold” now display healing / second instead of total. Total “Effect Duration” is listed separately.

Fires and furnaces and other warming sources now work 500% better. They will never explode you due to overheating, but they will warm you much better.

”Heat”, “Cold”, “Radioactivity” have been slightly reworked in relation to shields. Before, “Shield Belts” would nullify the effect sometimes and other times the effect would pass straight through. When it did what, was a bit unclear. Instead, Shields now have effect resistances. For example, if you get hit by a “Molotov”, with an un-upgraded Shield-Belt, 50% of the heat effect is absorbed by the shield, losing charge in the process. “Nitrogen Grenades” used to 100% penetrate shields, and have often been used for this purposes in many death-match maps. Don’t worry, a direct hit by a “Nitrogen Grenade” vs an un-upgraded shield will still inflict enough “cold” to destroy the target, but the difference becomes apparent when the shield has lots of upgrades.

Wall mounted turrets, alarms and sentries can now be moved around with the “Materializer Gun”.

Improved and smoothed camera look-ahead in speed challenges.

Releasing left or right while flying tilted through the air as a metalface now restores air rotation.

”Force device” now hits more targets in the arc when used.

Marketplace items and “Unique Loot” items are now indestructible.

Pickups now sink in water, instead of float.

”Survival” now scales difficulty for enemy spawns slightly less for number of players, while still retaining the amount of attacks and size of attacks. Was (0 to 1.75) is now (0 to 1).

Changed default actor class for customized rules to “Agent”.

All low-tech melee weapons increased damage by 75%.

Chrono bomb sphere of influence is more clearly marked.

Radioactive projectiles can now pass through walls but they will fly slower and lose power.

Being radioactive no longer randomly blocks key actions like shooting, reloading and picking up objects.

Radioactive targets are now visible on the hud offscreen through a small marker.

Nano dispenser gas is now faster to easier catch up with running players.

Nano dispenser gas and Nano pump gas now only heals yourself and friendly actors, unless it explodes as which point it will still heal anyone.

Camera tracking in challenges has been tweaked down a little to be less extreme with the route prediction, and it now also zooms out a bit more during high speeds.

Nerfed most enemy shield belts in adventure and removed a bunch of them as well.

Added more ammo, loot and extra lives to the first chapter in story.

Reduced the amount of radioactivity from radioactive environmental drops by 50%.

Bugs:

Fixed capture the plug score limit defaulting to 10, now defaults to 5.

Fixed jet shoes climbing issue

Fixed nexus report being added the player database when it was never supposed to.

Stun Gun, Rocket Launcher, Swarm Launcher, Grenades, are affected.

* Fixed bug causing exploding projectile launching weapons (Swarm launcher, Rocket launcher), to display roughly double the amount of damage they actually dealt in the ui.

* Fixed bug causing grenades to show an inaccurate damage amount in the ui (varied).

* Changed proximity calculations globally in WASD. It now removes the obj/target radius with a multiplier from the center of proximity calculations in a more accurate way, meaning explosions will actually deal 100% damage to enemies when you impact with them using projectiles and grenades.

* Stick Grenade and Grenade have both had their damage reduced from 150 to 88 damage, but also had their explosion radius increased a lot (1.3 -> 2.0 and 0.9 -> 1.75), as well as the explosion inverse exponent changed from 1.5 to 1.75, which should mean they pose a more consistent threat to a larger area, but less extreme.

* Time Bubble is nerfed. It gives less bullet time power.

* Start of round ability bugs fixed.

* Fixed visuals for time bubble for clients

* Increased radioactive projectile speed by about +125%, also made them move about 50% faster through walls.

This iteration is based on a bunch of different feedback, a bunch of it from above here in this channel, but also based on my own experience playing the last iteration. My general feeling was that the combat takes place a bit too much in the edges of the screen, requiring you to have your camera quite off center most of the time. So i started thinking about ways to try and center the combat more. My initial thinking is that i need to slow down the bullets more and bring in the range to allow people to have a chance to dodge. But i also don't want to just have endless dodging as gameplay, even close up, so as a second part of this effort, i wanted jumping to feel riskier in combat, by making your movement while in the air be easier to predict, (and harder to predict while on the ground)

* Removed use input hint for abilities

* Removed unused ability hud slot.

In an effort to try and move the combat closer to the "middle of the screen", and make engaging at max range less likely to succeeed, and make being on the ground more advantagues:

* Slowed down bullet globally by 31%

* Reduced bullet range globally by 7%

* Reduced bullet range for matter bolt and rifle by 20%

* Reduced bullet speed for matter bolt and rifle by 7%

* Reduced air control by 50%. (Does not change overall speed or mobility, but does make it less snappy to change direction in air)

* Increased ground control by 50%. (Increases overall snappyness on ground, and ability to walk up slopes)

* Reduced hold duck gravity increase by 33%. (similar reasoning, Make it more dangerous to be in the air compared to the ground.)

Balance:

* Increase matter rifle rate of fire by 14%

* Increase matter bolt rate of fire by 4%

* Rockets and Swarm Missles are now harder to push back with bullets. (the change is hard to quantify since there was a bug which was fixed involved.)

* Reduced rocket explosion size by 10%.

* Reduced rocket thrust by 23%.

* Increased rocket lifetime by about 15%.

* Swarm missile has slightly more homing rotation, but less carving and less friction.

* Increased health of rockets and swarm missiles by 100% (so that they are harder to blow up when exposed to explosions)

* Reduced object push on slugger bullets (cobra and revolution) by 20%.

* Fixed bug causing scopes to give twice as much bullet speed bonus as intended. This effectively becomes a scope nerf, but i would like to try it in the spirit of "compress combat closer to the middle of the screen".

* To better allow scopes to reposition, increased scoping speed by +200%

* Reduced matter gun ammo 26 -> 18. (since blaster has already gotten it reduced, this still keeps them rather separate. This also makes slugger cobra and matter gun more distinct)

* Increased slugger cobra ammo 22 -> 25.

* Increased dynamite explosion range by 25%.

* Fixed bug which showed dynamite as having longer range in ui than it had.

* Reduced Swarm Missle lifetime by 10%. (thrust duration)

* Increased Time Bomb range by 15%

* Getting stunned or blinded will now reset your ability cooldown, even if the effect is not currently active.

* Decloaking is now more consient with different actions all resulting in a more simimilar cloak penalty.

* Getting hit now decloaks you.

* Removed decloaking from double jump

* Colliding with other players no longer removes cloak (was buggy as well)

* Removed 0 fall damages.

* Hack grenade and its projectiles can no longer detect cloaked players

* Reduced box grenade boxes health by 50%.

* Increased box grenade duration 20s -> 60s

* Added an unskippable 3s fade out on the boxes when they run out of health.

Other:

* Shield is now red for the protobots, and blue for the metalfaces.

* Reduced general opacity of the Shield by about 50%.

* Increased amount of visual spikes in shield to better represent the lower total health it has (25 health per spike)

* Added a cooldown indicator under your character when your ability is on cooldown.

* Removed accelerator equipment ability for now.

Replaced Slugger Revolution with Radioactive Scout, a light more agile sniper with intel-gathering ability.

Added Protobot Radioactive Scout:

A variant on the rail scout with 6 shots

Deals 45 damage

Deals radioactive damage in an area on impact.

Has a sniper Scope

Costs 25 volts

0.5s between shots (0.3s if tapping fast!)

2.85s reload time.

Reworked Radioactive Crossbow, now called Fire Crossbow. This adds some cheaper brain-destruction and map control utility for protobots, as well as a rather high skilled sniper.

Shoots a single crossbow bolt dealing 50 damage

-50% gravity

slower bullet

Leaves 2 small shorter duration fires on impact.

Reworked Fire:

All fire deals more damage and less heat.

Fire movement more reliable.

Fire damage AOE slightly bigger.

Running through a field of fire is generally more dangerous.

Reworked Time Jumper:

Increased ammo from 2 to 8

Made teleportation movement speed much more predictable and matching the bullet itself. (You can still build up some speed, but in short ranges, it is much easier to understand)

Reduced lifetime of bullets by 50%.

Increased bullet speed by 70%

Reduced explosion chrono power from 3 to 0.75

Removed explosion damage (was tiny)

Reduced explosion size by 37%

Reworked melee damage:

Reduced movement-speed-based-damage-bonus on melee weapons by 50%.

Increased base damage of melee weapons by 100%.

Removed very hard to understand range factor variable damage mechanic (removed variably dealing 75%-100% damage depending on how close to max range you hit)

Removed some complicated math for suits and node attack which in the end basically took each other out, but made the ui damage numbers slighly wrong.

Abilites:

Reduced All ability cooldowns from 12s to 4s.

Removed "disable ability" feature from all gear.

Any Hull-Damage will now disable abilities.

Reduced general action stealth penalty 2s -> 1s.

Reduced shield health from 100 to 50.

Removed relative time-speed bonus from chrono bubble (now is is a pure reaction-enchancing bubble)

Increased time bubble time factor power.

Nano Healing:

Increased effectiveness by 50%. (both pump and dispenser)

Nano dispenser:

Increased price 10->15

Increased duration (total healing possible) by 50%.

Increased idle duration by 100% (if it is idling is survives longer)

Now attaches to walls/ground when it hits them.

Detaches when hit

Radioactive Vial:

Increased visual effect intensity of homing projectiles

Projectiles now live for longer

Deals more damage

Fly generally slower

Are easier to avoid, but are also more persistant

Time Rod:

reduced chrono power from 10 to 1 (less slowdown on target, was already quite absurd)

Matter rifle:

Improved fx and sound feedback when it breaks, takes hits, and fades out.

Stun Gun:

Increased force range a little bit (more reliable hit area)

Reduced force applied a little bit (a little bit more controllable, see point about general movement, also to compensate for range.)

Increased force applied to enemies (makes other people fly more)

But also reduced time you stun foes 1.0 -> 0.33

General movement:

Made "release-jump-to-top-flying-upwards"-effect depend on current air-control, which means that if you release jump right after blaster jumping, you don't cut your speed short early.

Wasd Defender hull:

Increased general "thrust" 0.8 -> 0.9. (better movement, throwing and reloading)

Grenades:

Added a team-based glow to most damage dealing throwables so that their team-origin is easier to determine.

AI:

Fixed bug which caused bots to skip an ai node when it would first require them to fall down

Fixed a bug which caused bots to skip standing on the ground before important jump nodes (causing them to sometimes do very bad jumps)

Fixed a bug in ai-node generation which caused triggers in non-physics layers to desire pathing.

Fixed a bug in ai-node generation which caused pathing desired tiles to always generate as "ground"-nodes, even when they were in the air.

Fixed a bug where pathfinding could be considered a success even with 0 steps.

Partially fixed a bug where pathnodes would be returned despite they not matching the pathmask, causing impossible paths.

Improved ai-node generation for region tiles so that they grow bigger to better represent the region.

Improved logic for determining if a node can be safely skipped (for example when jumping over a bunch of nodes), which reduces amount of backtracking they want to do.

In WASD, replaced the base metalface control ai, which uses some new math to determine things like air-control, improving jump accuracy.

In WASD, improved bot mouse logic to better simulate real mouse handling, including tempo shifts, inaccurracy and skill, and the effects on agility when pressing the shoot button.

AI Continued:

In WASD, reduced the "shoot slowly low ai skill" a lot, and moved the low skill more into aiming.

In WASD, made bots favour tactical targets a little bit more defensively

In WASD, improved both planting and disarming ai, which makes them better at planting when threatened and disarming when threatened. They will also now not try to disarm the bomb with more than needed.

In WASD, improved rate and accuracy of bot aiming at predicted movements of targets

In WASD, increased how often ai is allowed to consider weapon switching and how often they can throw grenades.

In WASD, reworked bot shopping ai to utilize full shop better but still favour "plain" weapons.

In WASD, fixed bug which caused bots to not be able to correctly select grenades (except in rare cases)

In WASD, made bots consider players slightly more eligible for being leaders for escorting.

In WASD, fixed issue which would make bots try to shoot at friends causing sounds. (nano dispenser for example)

This one is mainly based around 2 play test sessions where the healing felt a bit too prominent. Instead of just doing a straight nerf, i've tried to shift healing from revive more towards active healing, as well as making self healing and revive more risky. Revive with pump now requires you to really get in there and take a risk. Proper combat medic style. Healing friends is also more effective than healing yourself with pump.

Perhaps better active healing vs revive will make defender more viable as well?

WASD:

Fixed a network code related crash.

Fixed ai-related crash when holding explosive weapons and colliding with a physical tile (bug in ai)

Increased general scope speed 50%, making it a bit snapper when changing distance.

Reduced matter war base vision range by 10%

Reduced matter war scope vision range by 16%

Nano pump and dispenser:

Increased healing power by 50%

Reduced revive power by 50%

Increased heart movement speed by 100%.

Nano Pump:

Reduced general healing range 1000 -> 500.

Revive now uses an even shorter range 1000 -> 250. (This makes is much more feasible to actually keep pumpers away from brains, effectively guarding the revive)

Reduced ammo from 115 to 30    

Increased price from 20 to 30 (to match time jumper, but also since it is quite good)

Healing yourself is now done at a -50% speed penalty

Nano Dispenser:

Active healing duration reduced by 33%

Total passive duration still the same.

Just a small update bug with a big change:

* Fixed "switch slot and use instantly" input very often not workking due to server not having the correct item selected due the a dependency bug between actor actions and inventory sync. This makes quick-use-melee as reliable as regular melee.

* Fixed a rare network crash

* Increased max player slots to 9 (so that you can have 1 spectator as well)

* Improved spectator view controls (now same as spectating when dead)

Also removed the `experimental_9` branch since `experimental` with password `wowthatissomestuff` now supports the extra slots.

After some more playtesting today, here are a mixed bag of balance tweaks:

v276 EXPERIMENTAL

* Increased color contrast between reloading / boost notches.

* Increased scale contrast and alpha contrast when you are on a boost notch.

* Reduced intensity of reload bar color when boost is active so that remaining notched are of higher contrast.

Time Jumper: (less bullying with slowdown and higher degree of punishment when out of ammo.)

* Reduced ammo from 8 to 5

* Reduced time slow-down power on explosion by 66%

* Increased reload time from 2.8 -> 4.0

* Replaced current 1 reloadboost at 0.4 with two reload boosts at 0.25 and 0.75.

Time Rod: (creates a too strong need for counter play, longer duration weaker bonus and more fair play.)

* Reduced time-slowdown power on target by 66%

* Removed time-bomb negating effect from speed up. Now it is a plain speed up.

* Increased duration of time-bonus 3s -> 5s

* Reduced speed-up amount +25% -> +15%

Matter Machine (too easy to run out of bullet range - looses some of its suppressive role.)

* Increased bullet lifetime / range by 33%.

Radioactive Scout (didnt feel like it imposed enough respect as a sniper.)

Rocket Launcher (feels too slow and spammy)

* Increased muzzle speed by 50%

* Reduced ammo from 5 -> 4.

Force Device

* Increased damage 6 -> 25.

* Increased force 50 -> 75.

* Increased visual hit feedback

* Increased use light power.

Matter War:

* Reduced pushback by 50%.

Stun Gun: (more useful in air, less reliant on walls for full utility, more useful in combat, less spammy)

* Reduced force on hit explosion.

* Damage is now explosive splash damage for whole explosion, not just when hitting straight on.

Oxeye daisy (or just "daisy") is the regional flower of Skåne. When we formed Oxeye we were all living in Skåne (or on our way to move there), so we wanted something that related to it, and "Oxeye" sounded cool. The name of the flower in Swedish is Prästkrage ("Priest collar")

That's why our game engine is called Daisy, and the Lua wrapper for Daisy is DaisyMoon

Oxeye Game Studio History

In spring 2007, Oxeye moved into it's first "office" at a business incubator called VentureLab in Lund. Oxeye's room was the left-most window on the first picture. We got the place on the pitch to make a minigame arcade platform, but first we developed and released The Strategist, followed by Harvest: Massive Encounter.

Our room in VentureLab. On the first picture is Alexander Persson ("aegzorz"), who was part of Oxeye from 2005 to 2008. His main responsibility was porting Daisy to Mac. On the second picture is Daniel Brynolf, using the texture packer to import artwork to Harvest.

In May 2007, Harvest was nominted for "best game" at the Swedish Game Awards (a student competition). Harvest won second prize and received 20,000 SEK (about $1944 at today's exchange rate). Here is a picture of the exhibition hall (Jens in an Oxeye t-shirt and yellow/brown hoodie), and the Harvest stand.

Another picture from the new office. Jonas Johnsson ("STALKER") was a member of Oxeye for a short while and helped with graphics programming (shaders), and financial book-keeping.

In March 2008 we released Harvest and had a small "release fika" with an alien-shaped cake. Pictured is Jens Bergensten, Alexander Persson, Jonas Johnsson, and Daniel Brynolf (in front).

Sadly I'm unable to find any pictures between 2008 and 2010. They're lost somewhere.

In the August 2010, we went to a gamejam in Berlin. I don't recall what game we made. On the last picture we let a visitor playtest an early version of Cobalt (then called "Project B", B for "Blueface")

No this isn't quite correct. All players are humans, and iwids and menits are the inhabitants of the region in which Akarra takes place. It's true that there's a slight colonization theme, but the humans are refugees not colonizers.

I don't know if this has been changed in the fan-based shards created after the original game
